This one looks pretty old. I suggest that if you do go take a look at it, take a barrel gauge with you.
this is a simple device (a bullet of the same caliber can also be used if you know what you're doing) to gauge the barrel wear. if the round goes in up to the neck of the case, it's probably been shot quite a bit and will be a lot less accurate than one where the bullet fits tightly into the barrel without touching the neck of the cartridge.
if the barrel isn't worn out, and the mechanism works well enough, and you feel like paying that much money for a rifle like that then go ahead and buy it.
I myself would put the money into joining CMP (civilian marksmanship program) which you can do if you first become a member of the garand collectors' association(25.00 yearly dues) and I'd buy an M1 garand for about the same price. you get a LOT more accuracy (albeit less ammo capacity) and all in all, those rifles are pretty hard to wear out. plus, you can buy the ammo from CMP pretty cheaply. 10 cases a year for around 89 bucks a box (thats 190 rounds or thereabouts, per box).
Just my 2 cents.
also, I wanted to say that I'm new here. hi
